It’s done. After his presence on numerous label samplers, a multitude of singles in the digital world and a large number of collaborations, Clap Cotton’s debut album is now here. A colourful potpurret of beat culture hits the lofi genre unerringly without excluding more futuristic synth sounds. The jazz-inspired beatlover comes with a helping of mellow-sounding chords and with the love for crisp-sounding drums. Due to his musical background as a pianist, Clap Cotton once again refrains from using samples on the album and has thus produced every single track From Scratch, which may thus also adorn the name of the record. The fact that everything comes from one pen is also reflected in the cover, which was illustrated by Sellout Industries. Clap Cotton is part of the loose beatmaker collective Con Comfort, which also includes the artists Smuv, Juan Rios, Mt. Fujitive, MF Eistee and Loop Schrauber. If you’re into a more complex lofi / beatculture sound, we highly recommend you make this gem your own.
